The concept for Sterling Coffee is derived from the name, the coffee shop being situated on Sterling Rd. in Toronto, a previously industrial part of the city that has been transforming into a vibrant community with restaurants, condos and arts spaces popping up everywhere. The 'sterling' also refers to the coffee vessels of the 18th c. which were predominantly made of sterling silver.
